Discussion about Regulating Lines

Regulating lines are basically the backbone of good architecture. They aren’t just rules, they’re a way to bring order and prevent random design choices. Using them gives a structure balance, rhythm, and proportion. From the distant past architects have relied on these lines to make spaces that feel right to the human eye and work with natural laws. They guide how things line up, where doors and windows go, and how the whole structure fits together. But somewhere along the way, a lot of modern architecture lost this approach, which is why some buildings today feel disconnected and random, missing that sense of natural order and harmony.
